5:00-6:00pm: Arrival at Cairns Marlin Marina
We arrived at Cairns Marlin Marina around 5:00pm and made our way along the finger to where the Atlantic Princess is docked. The crew welcomed us and graciously helped us aboard before offering us drinks. The late afternoon sun sparkled on the water as we were given a safety briefing and a tour of the beautiful superyacht, with plenty of spots to relax. Then we set sail and departed the marina!
6:00-7:00pm: Dinner served, drinks, music, and cruising
As we slipped away from the foreshore of Cairns, we watched the spectacular far North Queensland sunset from the ample comfortable seating in the bow, enjoying our drinks and listening to our own handpicked music playlist. The attentive crew even brought the portable speaker down from the top deck so we could hear the tunes. When the sun slipped behind the mountains of Cairns and the breeze picked up, we headed inside to the dining room where a light dinner of hot canapés was laid out on the table.
We loved being able to tailor our charter package. Other options include a wine and dine charter with a three-course menu and drink pairings. We kept it more informal this time, but a sit-down dinner prepared by a gourmet chef on board a superyacht sounds wonderful!
7:00-8:00pm: Relaxing, unwinding, and enjoying the ocean breeze
After having our fill of specially prepared finger foods in a range of flavours and cuisines, we retired to the indoor lounge where our drinks were topped up and we were able to relax, unwind, and recline in the luxurious furnishings. We could step outside and enjoy the salty air and the glimmering lights of Cairns, the moonlight bouncing off the water as we glided along.
As we slowly made our way back towards the marina, we were reluctant for the magic to end! Maybe next time we will have to book a multi-day charter on Atlantic Princess to enjoy the beautifully appointed bedrooms, explore the Great Barrier Reef, and wake up in our own tropical paradise.
